  • Debbie Carpenter - Board President

    Debbie is the Fire Chief with Spirit Lake Fire in north Idaho. In addition to her day job, she does committee work with the International Association of Fire Chiefs and teaches online classes at the University of New Hampshire.
    Through the fire service, Debbie found Parkland Burn Camp, where she plays as a camp counselor at a week-long summer camp for children who have been hospitalized with burn injuries. Debbie discovered Laughter League at Parkland, leading to her commitment to support Laughter League’s mission and work.
    Debbie’s own passions are kayaking and mountain biking, and she has turned those hobbies into partnering with wounded veterans in long-distance canoe and kayak races and multi-day mountain biking events.

  • Guinea Bennett-Price

    Guinea holds a BFA in Theatre from Howard University in Washington D.C. She is a co-founder and Artistic director of Soul Rep Theatre Company where her acting and directing credits include The Freedmans, Her Stories, Spunk, In the Blood, Once on this Island and Dreamgirls. Ms. Bennett Price has had the pleasure of directing Most Valuable Player and Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry at the Dallas Children’s Theater and the honor of portraying Calpurnia in To Kill a Mockingbird. She works continuously as a teaching artist with various organizations including The Dallas Public Library, Dallas Theater Center, West Dallas Community Centers, Big Thought, Junior Players and the Bermuda Union of Teachers. She has also worked as a full-time educator in performing arts since 2004, at the Wilmer Hutchins Performing Arts High School, Greiner Exploratory Arts Academy, George Washington Carver Creative Arts Learning Center, and now in the Theater Department at The Booker T. Washington High School of the Performing and Visual Arts.

  • Ray Quigley, M.D.

    Ray grew up in many parts of the country because his father was in the Air Force. He went to college and medical school in Alabama before moving to Dallas, Texas to finish medical training. After doing his residency and fellowship at UT Southwestern Medical Center, Ray joined the faculty in the Department of Pediatrics as a Pediatric Nephrologist in 1991.
    In his early years as an attending nephrologist, he met Tiffany Riley and Dick Monday. They established a group of therapeutic clowns at Children’s Medical Center called “Funnyatrics”. Seeing them work with patients and attending some of their workshops, it quickly became clear that their passion for their work and the depth of their abilities was phenomenal.
    Ray has continued to support the work of what is now “The Laughter League” as much as he can. He is happy to serve on the Board of Directors helping Laughter League to reach a wider audience and to approach the work more academically, through research initiatives.

  • Emily Faith

    Emily is a multidisciplinary theatre artist and drama therapist. With over a decade of performing and teaching all over the country, Emily landed in Dallas, TX, where she founded a women focused non-profit theatre and her own private practice. Emily received her masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Drama Therapy from Lesley University (‘21), focusing her research on the mental wellness of performing artists. Emily is a founding member of the Lesley University Research Lab, the Coalition of Circus Arts in Drama Therapy, and is currently a drama therapy researcher for the CoActive Therapeutic Theatre Model's (CoATT) 18-month study in partnership with Lesley University, UMASS Mind, and the National Endowment for the Arts. She also proudly sits on the boards of the North American Drama Therapy Association (NADTA) as Communications Chair. Emily found her artistic home at Arts Mission Oak Cliff as an Artist in Residence, and is proud to serve AMOC as it continues to flourish.

  • Rhonda J. Thompson

    Rhonda is a board-certified commercial litigation attorney with focus on trial work on behalf of insurance carriers and of their policyholders. Rhonda has practiced law for over 20 years and is licensed in Texas, New Mexico and many federal courts around the country. Throughout her career, Rhonda has devoted a significant amount of time training insurance carriers and businesses on a wide range of topics. She has received many awards, including being named among the Best Lawyers in America, 2023 Lawyers of the Year. Rhonda is a huge fan of Laughter League and clowns generally!

  • Brandon Hassan

    Brandon is a musician, activist, music therapist, and neurologic music therapist. He facilitates a stroke survivor choir, multiple autism spectrum groups, youth shelter/group home programs, works with an IEP-based school, and sees 20+ individual clients. As a neurologic music therapist, Bran uses knowledge of the brain to inform his work. Within these different settings, he addresses various challenges like mental health, executive functioning, social/communication skills, fine/gross motor skills, self-expression, and emotional regulation. When he is not with his clients, Bran can be found writing songs, performing music, repairing and riding his vintage motorcycle, or hosting board game nights with his friends. Bran is an avid learner and advocate against oppression. He shares intersections as a BIPOC, queer, disabled human and works towards anti-racist, anti-ableist, and pro-queer practices.

  • Kathy Beazley

    Kathy is a marketing/public relations professional with more than 25 years of experience, provides consulting services on local, regional, state, and national levels, Kathy specializes in creating campaigns that utilize and integrate various tactics including public relations, social media, and community relations. She provides consulting services to an array of industries including corporate, entertainment/special events, healthcare, hospitality, and retail. Kathy has worked with brands big and small, for-profit, and non-profit (and small businesses somewhere in-between).

  • Chet Monday

    Chet is a 23 year old advocate for climate change awareness and other political issues. Born in New York City and raised in Dallas, TX, Chet currently serves as the Director of Youth Engagement for the March for Science. He has a background in performing arts and circus, and was drawn to advocacy work when he organized walk outs at his high school. Chet enjoys golf, trivia bartending and helping shape the narrative of Laughter League for the next generation of philanthropists.

  • Jane Nichols

    Jane is a teacher, director, and actor who has been teaching Clown for over 30 years. She has studied with Philippe Gaulier and Keith Johnstone, and has taught at Yale School of Drama, Juilliard, Harvard University, Brown University, ART, ACT, the Actors Center of NYC, and University of Washington. In Seattle she has directed shows at WET, the Intiman, Cornish School of the Arts, Seattle University, and UW. Former students can be seen performing at Cirque du Soleil, Blue Man Group, Ashland Shakespeare Festival, and are featured in leading roles in film and TV.oes here
